The Hungarian flag carrier ceased operations today (Feb. 3) after 66 years of virtually continuous operations. Peter Bartholdt and Travel Goodtime Tours Inc have been convicted on one count each of operating as a travel agent without registration contrary to section 4(1)(a) of the Ontario Travel Industry Act, 2002. Travel Goodtime Tours Inc's registration under the Travel Industry Act, 2002 was revoked in July 2011 and the company continued to operate in the Toronto Region.

Cathay Pacific Airways is advising that it will be changing over to a new passenger reservations system during the weekend of Feb. 11 and Feb. 12, 2012. The annual Florida Huddle travel trade show kicked off Thursday night in Fort Lauderdale with an evening gala on the beach on the site of what will soon be a Jimmy Buffett Margaritaville hotel and restaurant complex in Hollywood (opening 2014).

Both Lufthansa and Austrian Airlines have resumed their flights to Tripoli. Lufthansa began its service on Feb. 2 and Austrian will recommence its operations to Tripoli on March 25, 2012. The Libyan capital will be served by Lufthansa three times a week from Frankfurt. When it resumes its service, Austrian will operate to Tripoli five times a week from Vienna.
